TO TREAT YOUR OWN PET STAINS: Items needed:
Many paper towels–A pet enzyme Treatment from the pet store – Patience.
1.
Blot area by using a stack of paper
towels, which you put on the pet stained area with a heavy weight for 30 seconds. Repeat, but leave it
on for a few minutes. Then repeat and leave weight on for an hour.2. Then cut out one thickness of paper towel in the approximate
shape of the stain. Cover the stain with the paper towel, and moisten the paper towel with the pet enzymes. Press
in with your fingers on top of the towel. Just moisten the area: the last thing we want,
after removing most urine, is getting the carpet wetter than it already is. The enzymes slowly digest the
urine. Wait at least 30 minutes.3. Now blot the area with a few paper towels with a heavy weight for a few minutes.
Then blot with more paper towels, with a heavy weight on it, for an hour.Your have now removed most contamination, treated the stain with a
product that makes it as sanitary as possible, and left only a small amount of residue. Like New Again Carpet Cleaning
treats these stains with professional pet enzymes and state of the art equipment with 25 horse power of suction.
Our carpets are usually dry within 8 hours. We leave booties on request, so you can use the carpet immediately. In the
future, when you buy pet food, look at the ingredients. Avoid any pet food with the ingredient RED40
in it. This is a food dye that makes the pet food appear meaty. Animals are color blind,
but pet owners aren’t. It is a needless sales tool that makes stain removal more difficult. EXTREME PET ODOR: In extreme cases of urine contamination of an area – the contamination
goes all the way to the pad and the floor. There are 2 solutions: 1. URINE
FLUSH: The affected carpet is soaked with an acidic liquid – made
to loosen all contamination. It must remain for 20-30 minutes. A device called a Water Claw is then attached
to a hose with 25 horsepower of suction. This suction is applied to a very small area -about 8 inches by
8 inches - assuring the technician that all contamination is removed. Then it is moved just a few inches
away and repeated – until the entire area has been made sanitary. As a final precaution – a
mist of Pet Enzymes is sprayed on the surface of the carpet – so that if any urine, not completely removed, wicks to
the surface of the carpet - it will be digested by the enzyme. 2. REPLACING THE
CARPET: When the old carpet and pad is removed, there is usually substantial damage to the floor beneath.
If severe, it must be sanded down a little, and painted with Kilz. Kilz forms an impermeable barrier
to the contamination on the wood or concrete floor. You then lay the pad and carpet as usual. NOTE: When
replacing carpet in a home with a pet – avoid berber carpets which are dense. Pets prefer to make
more mistakes on them because they more resemble the ground outside-especially in basements, which are also cold like the
ground outside. Also,
be realistic and defensive. You pet will never clean up after himself. But getting the
stains removed as soon as possible will limit the damage done. Install dog doors if possible. If buying
a carpet – use a pad with an impermeable barrier so the stain never gets to the back of the carpet. (Key
